EXQUISITE ALPACA

Southern Alpacas Stud are breeders of fine micron alpacas and supply exquisite alpaca fibre for crafters.
We have clean raw fibre in a dozen natural shades, and washed and carded slivers of pure alpaca fibre, in natural colours. Our main shades are white, light honey fawn, warm fawn,  ginger, rich brown, chocolate brown, espresso, jet black, dark grey, dusky grey, silver grey, rose grey.

We also blend natural coloured alpaca with hand-dyed silk for luxurious blends in fabulous bright colours. This year our range is luscious and almost edible – raspberry, bananaberry, apricot swirl, blackberry, black spice, and lavender.

Working with Touch Yarns we produce fine alpaca and merino yarn – 2 ply and 4 ply boucle in a natural ecru shade, as well as vibrant hand-dyed yarns. These are also available as knit kits with patterns for scarves and jerseys and wraps.
Our selection for the yarn sampler is some small hanks of these hand-dyed 2 ply yarns – which are incredibly fine, and they go a long way. They are bright with the colours of summer – sunny poppies, pretty pentstemons, and lovely lavender shades.

Working with Just Alpaca we supply our alpaca for 4 ply and 8 ply yarns in natural shades – white, light fawn, medium fawn, brown, grey, black.
